"I joined the TCS a bit over two years ago, and last year was my first time participating in CommunicAsia [an information and communications technology (ICT) exhibition and conference in Singapore]. One of the many lessons I’ve learned about the ICT sector is that success takes quite some time to come to fruition. It comes down to the requirements for certain infrastructure, software and hardware configurations, testing and trials, etc.

Last year I met with many Canadian companies at the event to brief them about the opportunities in Vietnam and what the TCS has to offer. They then came to Vietnam to get a hands-on assessment. I provided companies with lists of qualified contacts and facilitated meeting arrangements to start initial discussions. Six months later, a cyber security client informed me that a non-disclosure agreement was signed and they are pursuing additional leads. For other clients, discussions have been ongoing for eight months now, and we expect success, but it’s important to take into consideration that it can take a lot of time to reach that goal."
