Event description

To support Canadian companies in joining the transformation of India's energy sector, Canada's Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) team in India is organizing a Canadian Clean Energy Technologies Mission to India, scheduled for February 17-21, 2025.

India is committed to achieving net zero by 2070, with a goal of generating 50% of its electricity from non-fossil sources by 2030. The country currently ranks fourth globally in renewable energy capacity and has ambitious plans for further expansion. To support this growth, India will require annual investments of between US$150-200 billion, presenting significant opportunities for Canadian companies offering innovative solutions.

The National Research Council of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) has agreed to participate in and support this mission, recognizing the potential for synergies and the opportunity to expand the scope of research and development (R&D) collaboration by leveraging the Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) funding alongside traditional business development activities.
