Fintech in Hong Kong - Canadian Technology Accelerator
Hong Kong (HK) is a leading international financial centre, the 3rd largest after New York and London according to the latest rankings of the Global Financial Centres Index. The city hosts the Asia-Pacific headquarters for many of the world's large banks, insurances, and asset managers due to its light regulation and strong rule of law.
As the HK Government has been trying to increase the competitiveness of the city's financial sector, the government has been issuing new digital bank and insurance licenses. Along with the rise of new technologies like AI, machine learning, and blockchain, traditional banks, insurers, and asset managers are looking to collaborate with fintech companies to stay competitive.
This presents significant opportunities for Canadian technology providers in the financial technology (fintech) sector. This Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) program in Hong Kong aims to help Canadian fintech businesses navigate this market and connect with potential partners, buyers, and investors.

We are looking for high-potential Canadian companies with a financial technology that can add value to the different parts of the financial services value chain. Companies must be interested in expanding into Asia with end users such as:

How the program works
The program includes:
- participation in HK Fintech Week, one of the largest fintech conferences in the Asia-Pacific.
- virtual market insights webinars on every two weeks
- targeted business-to-business (B2B) meetings and networking opportunities with potential local partners, investors and clients
