Mexico’s growing needs for innovative machinery and equipment presents opportunities for Canadian companies. The Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) global business development program can give you the knowledge and connections you need to enter this market.

Who should apply
We are looking for Canadian innovators who have:
- a differentiated and validated technology, product or service
- proven product market fit with a defined target audience
- the ability to articulate a problem your company is solving
- existing market traction with at least one minimum viable product and evidence of maturity, including revenue, investment or other
- a passionate, strong and committed management team with at least one senior manager who can commit to participating in the entire program
- sufficient resources to target and achieve growth in the Mexican market
We are looking for leading edge AgTech companies in areas of:
- precision agriculture: data, traceability, GPS, machine control systems, sensors, robotics, autonomous vehicles, automated hardware, telematics and software
- protected agriculture: greenhouses, hydroponics, control and automation systems, management software, remote sensors, artificial intelligence and fertigation controls
- animal protein processors for pork, beef and poultry: environmental control systems, remote monitoring solutions, robotics and artificial intelligence, sensors, data management platforms and traceability

What we offer
We provide tools to adapt your business development strategy to achieve higher rates of success in Mexico, including:
- in-depth market briefing on doing business in Mexico to better understand the local market as well as regulatory and import considerations
- targeted B2B meetings with experts in government and private sectors
- mentorship and advice on engaging with and pitching to key contacts in the Mexican market
- workshop events with like-minded entrepreneurial organizations
- introductions to potential buyers, investors and strategic partners
- tailored strategic advice Program
The program is split into three components. The first takes place in February and includes:
- meetings with mentors
- preparation for business matchmaking sessions and pitches to Mexican contacts
- presentations including three live webinars on:
- how to do business in Mexico
- opportunities in the AgTech ecosystem with special focus on precision agriculture, protected agriculture and animal protein processors
- local partners and distributors in Mexico
March's component includes B2B meetings and matchmaking sessions with potential partners, clients and distributors.
The early to mid-April sessions include wrap-up, lessons learned, and final follow-ups.
