Trade Commissioner Service - Guatemala
Welcome to the office of the Trade Commissioner Service in Guatemala. The mandate of the Commercial Section of the Canadian Embassy in Guatemala is to promote and protect Canada's economic interests in the Guatemala. In this context, we support the efforts of Canadian companies which have selected Guatemala as a target market for their products, services, technologies and investments.
Bilateral trade between the two nations reached C$924 million in 2016. Canada exported a total of C$114 million worth of goods in 2016 to Guatemala, with top products exported being Paper and Paperboard, Mineral Fuel, Fertilizers, Fats/Oils and machinery. Imports from Guatemala reached C$810 million, with main imports being fruit, coffee, ores, sugar, apparel and vegetables.
Canadian investments in Guatemala include: telecommunications, extractive industry, agriculture and clean technologies services and products.
The office in Guatemala is also responsible for Belize.
