Trade Commissioner Service - Guatemala
Welcome to the office of the Trade Commissioner Service in Guatemala. The mandate of the Commercial Section of the Canadian Embassy in Guatemala is to promote and protect Canada's economic interests in the Guatemala. In this context, we support the efforts of Canadian companies which have selected Guatemala as a target market for their products, services, technologies and investments.
Bilateral trade between the two nations reached C$612 million up to November 2014. Canada exported a total of C$105 million worth of goods in 2014 to Guatemala, with top products exported being Paper and Paperboard, Mineral Fuel, Fertilizers, Fats/Oils and machinery. Imports from Guatemala reached C$507 million, with main imports being fruit, coffee, ores, sugar, apparel and vegetables.
Canada is one of the top three foreign investor in Guatemala, with a cumulative investment of over one billion Canadian Dollars in 2014. Main investment areas for Canadian companies are telecommunications, extractive industry and agriculture.
