The second SelectCanada Canadian Graduate Studies Roadshow in Southwest China is scheduled to take place in Kunming, in the Chinese Province of Yunnan, on November 15 2018. This roadshow is being organized by the Consulate General of Canada in Chongqing and precedes Canada’s participation in the China PhD Workshop in Beijing, November 17-18, 2018. This roadshow provides an opportunity for Canadian universities to recruit Chinese students for Canadian graduate studies programs and to develop partnerships with graduate schools at leading research universities in Yunnan. The first SelectCanada Canadian Graduate Studies Roadshow took place in Chengdu and Chongqing in November 2016. Twelve Canadian universities were represented in that successful mission.

The program of this roadshow in Kunming will include a partnership development meeting with Yunnan University (YNU) and an all Canadian student recruitment fair. The recruitment fair is specially organized for members of the SelectCanada delegation to connect with Chinese students from YNU and all other universities in Yunnan with students interested in pursuing master’s or doctoral studies in Canada.  YNU is one of China’s top-ranked research universities with strong connections with Canada.

This roadshow is open to a maximum of 12 participating Canadian universities. Applications will be considered and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Canadian universities are eligible for participating in this roadshow free of charge with the exclusion of air travel, ground transportation, hotel accommodation and meals, which will be the responsibility of the participating representatives.
